Dosage and Administration:
Dogs & Cats
Puppies/kittens (weaning weight): 10-20 mg ampicillin/kg body weight every 12 hours (oral)
Adults: 10-20 mg ampicillin/kg body weight every 8-12 hours (oral)
Swine, Cattle, Sheep, Goats
Piglets/Lambs/Kids: 10-20 mg ampicillin/kg body weight every 12 hours (oral)
Adults: 10-20 mg ampicillin/kg body weight every 8-12 hours (oral)
Poultry
Broilers/Chicks: 20-40 mg ampicillin/kg body weight/day, divided doses in drinking water
Horses
Foals: 10-20 mg ampicillin/kg body weight every 12 hours (oral)
Adults: 10-20 mg ampicillin/kg body weight every 8-12 hours (oral)
Indications and Symptoms:
Treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible strains, including respiratory, urinary, gastrointestinal, and skin infections.
Precautions:
Do not use in animals allergic to penicillins or beta-lactam antibiotics.
Use with caution in animals with renal impairment or in pregnant/lactating females.
Shake well before each use.
Follow local withdrawal periods for food animals.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to ampicillin or other penicillin antibiotics.
Not for use in animals with a history of ampicillin-associated allergy.
Care After Medication:
Ensure the animal has access to water.
Monitor for signs of allergic reactions (swelling, rash, difficulty breathing).
Complete the prescribed course even if symptoms improve.
In case of severe adverse reaction or overdose, contact a veterinarian immediately.
