Applicable Animals:
Cattle (beef and dairy), sheep, goats, swine, camels, deer, buffalo, yaks, alpaca, horses, reindeer, and other livestock and large ruminants common in animal husbandry industries worldwide.
Usage and Dosage:
Dosage and administration should always follow the manufacturer’s instructions or the advice of a veterinary professional. The following are typical regimens for doramectin injectable formulations:
Cattle:
Growing calves: 1 ml/50 kg body weight by subcutaneous injection
Adult cattle: 1 ml/50 kg body weight by subcutaneous injection
Sheep and Goats:
Lambs/kids: 1 ml/50 kg body weight by subcutaneous injection
Adults: 1 ml/50 kg body weight by subcutaneous injection
Swine:
Piglets: Not generally recommended unless otherwise specified
Growers/adults: 1 ml/33 kg body weight by intramuscular injection
Other ruminants and camelids (buffalo, yak, camels, deer, alpaca, etc.):
1 ml/50 kg body weight by subcutaneous injection
Repeat after 4–6 weeks if reinfestation risk persists. Precise dosage may vary by country/region or local parasite epidemiology.
Indications and Symptoms:
For the prevention and treatment of parasitic infections, including gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, eyeworms, grubs, lice, and mange mites.
Indicated when animals show signs such as weight loss, anemia, rough hair coat, coughing, diarrhea, and skin itching caused by parasitic infestation.
Precautions:
Observe the withdrawal period for meat or milk as stated in product labels.
Do not overdose; base the dose on accurate body weight measurement.
Do not use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption, unless product label states otherwise.
Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.
Use only in species and for purposes as indicated.
Contraindications:
Do not use in animals with a known hypersensitivity to doramectin or formulation excipients.
Not for use in dogs, cats, or other small animals.
Post-medication Care:
Monitor animals for adverse drug reactions for at least 24 hours post-injection.
Supportive treatment may be required for heavily infested animals, as the death of parasites can provoke allergic or toxic reactions.
Maintain access to fresh water and standard diet.
