Applicable Animals:

This product is a combined preparation of Spectinomycin and Lincomycin. Spectinomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic primarily effective against Gram-negative bacteria, with some inhibitory effect on certain Gram-positive bacteria and Mycoplasma. Lincomycin is a lincosamide antibiotic primarily potent against Gram-positive bacteria and Mycoplasma, and also effective against anaerobic bacteria. The combination exhibits synergistic effects, broadening the antibacterial spectrum, and is particularly suitable for treating mixed infections.
  • Monogastric Animals (Pigs):
    • Growing Piglets, Fattening Pigs, Sows: For the treatment of respiratory diseases, intestinal diseases, arthritis, and septicemia caused by bacterial and Mycoplasma infections (especially Mycoplasma and susceptible bacteria).
  • Poultry (Chickens, Turkeys, etc.):
    • Chickens/Chicks: For the treatment of chronic respiratory disease (CRD) caused by Mycoplasma, infectious coryza, E.coli disease, salmonellosis, staphylococcosis, and enteritis and diarrhea caused by susceptible bacteria.
    • Turkeys: For the treatment of Mycoplasma infections, blue comb disease.

Usage and Dosage:

The administration method of this product varies with the dosage form. Injections are for individual treatment, while oral solutions/soluble powders are for group administration. Specific dosage and duration of treatment should be determined based on the animal species, body weight, age, disease severity, and veterinary diagnosis. Injection Solution (Intramuscular Injection):
  • Pigs:
    • Piglets (within 3 days of birth): Single injection of 0.25ml/pig, or 0.1-0.2ml/kg body weight.
    • Pigs (over 3 days old): 1ml/kg body weight, or administer 10mg Lincomycin + 20mg Spectinomycin per kg body weight, once daily for 3-5 days.
  • Poultry (Chickens, Turkeys):
    • Chickens: 0.1ml/kg body weight, or administer 10mg Lincomycin + 20mg Spectinomycin per kg body weight, once daily for 3-5 days.
Oral Solution (Mixed with drinking water or feed):

Dosage by Growth Stage:
  • Newborn Piglets/Chicks: For injectable administration, strictly control the dose to avoid overdose. For oral administration, calculate precisely based on age and body weight.
  • Growing/Fattening Animals: Use within the recommended dosage range.
  • Breeding Livestock/Poultry: Use with caution during the breeding period, weighing the therapeutic benefits against potential risks.

Applicable Diseases and Symptoms:

This product is mainly used for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria and Mycoplasma sensitive to Spectinomycin and Lincomycin.
  • Pigs:
    • Respiratory Diseases: Mycoplasma pneumonia (swine enzootic pneumonia), infectious pleuropneumonia, atrophic rhinitis, presenting as coughing, wheezing, respiratory distress.
    • Intestinal Diseases: Bacterial enteritis (e.g., caused by E.coli, Salmonella, Brachyspira hyodysenteriae), yellow and white scours in piglets, edema disease, swine dysentery, presenting as diarrhea, dehydration, stunted growth.
    • Arthritis: E.g., arthritis caused by Mycoplasma or Staphylococcus, presenting as lameness, joint swelling.
    • Septicemia: Systemic infection caused by susceptible bacteria.
  • Poultry:
    • Respiratory Diseases: Chronic respiratory disease (CRD, caused by Mycoplasma), infectious coryza, E.coli disease, presenting as coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, rales.
    • Intestinal Diseases: Bacterial enteritis, diarrhea, watery or yellowish/greenish droppings caused by E.coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus species.
    • Others: Staphylococcosis, streptococcosis causing arthritis, septicemia, etc.

Precautions:

  • Drug Solubility: If it is a soluble powder, ensure complete dissolution. Oral solution does not require this.
  • Fresh Preparation: Mixed drinking water or feed should be consumed within 24 hours to ensure drug activity. Opened injection solutions should be handled aseptically and used as soon as possible.
  • Drug Resistance: Prolonged or improper use may lead to drug resistance. Avoid arbitrary dose adjustments or extended treatment durations.
  • Renal Impairment: Use with caution in animals with renal impairment, as the drug is primarily excreted through the kidneys, which may increase drug accumulation and toxicity.
  • Sensitive Animals: Contraindicated in animals with known hypersensitivity to Lincomycin or Spectinomycin.
  • Withdrawal Period: Animals intended for slaughter or egg production must observe the prescribed withdrawal period to avoid drug residues.
    • Pigs: 14 days
    • Chickens: 7 days

Contraindications:

  • Lincomycin is contraindicated in horses as it can cause severe gastrointestinal reactions, potentially fatal.
  • Contraindicated in animals with known hypersensitivity to any component of this product.
  • Contraindicated in animals with severe hepatic or renal dysfunction.
  • Due to neuromuscular blocking effects, it should not be used concurrently with muscle relaxants or anesthetics.
  • Should not be used in combination with aminoglycoside antibiotics (e.g., Gentamicin) or macrolide antibiotics (e.g., Tilmicosin, Tylosin), as this may lead to antagonistic effects or increased toxicity.

Post-Administration Care:

  • Observe Efficacy: Closely monitor the animal’s clinical symptom improvement during administration, such as feed intake, mental status, and defecation.
  • Enhanced Management: Maintain a clean and hygienic rearing environment, provide ample drinking water, improve feeding conditions, and reduce stress to aid animal recovery.
  • Pathogen Elimination: For respiratory diseases, environmental disinfection and ventilation can be combined. For intestinal diseases, in addition to medication, attention should be paid to the hygiene of drinking water and feed.
  • Treatment Adjustment: If symptoms do not significantly improve after 3-5 days of medication, re-diagnosis should be performed, and consideration given to switching to other sensitive drugs.
  • Vaccination: After recovery from illness, vaccination can be carried out as appropriate to enhance specific immunity and prevent re-infection.
